Treat the greeting as the first event
Before you reply, identify what the companion already knows and what your character has walked into. Respond to that event so the next message has a clear subject.
Change one writing control at a time
Keep the current premise when comparing settings. It is easier to notice a change in pace or description if the scene itself stays familiar.
- Regenerate asks for another version of the current response.
- Continue extends what the companion is already saying.
- Writing Style in Chat Settings offers Short, Default and Long.
- Custom Instructions can hold a preference such as leaving your character's dialogue for you to write.
Compare the text options available to your account
Nectar Basic, Orchid Lite, Fuchsia, DeepSeek V4 Flash, Primrose, Hibiscus and Orchid are among the documented chat choices. Some options are beta features or have account-specific access.
Model indicators describe qualities such as creativity and consistency. Try the same short exchange to judge your preference; those indicators cannot guarantee how an individual reply will turn out.
Save facts rather than another copy of the story
Use Memory to keep a concise fact the conversation should be able to refer to. Review the list before adding a replacement, and correct conflicting versions. Up to ten memories can be marked important.
Recent context is finite. Starting another chat does not carry the old conversation's memories into it automatically, so introduce the relevant background again.
